Referral marketing allows your loyal customers to “sell” for you by referring others to your business. Sounds great, right?

Unfortunately, getting helpful reviews and referrals is not as easy as just providing good service or a worthwhile product. The disconnect is that a recent study showed that while 83% of people are willing to write a review or refer people to a business after a pleasant experience, only 29% actually follow through and do it.

So how do you get customers who are willing to review and refer?

Believe it or not, this is something that Glenwood Area Chamber of Commerce specializes in. Part of our role is to yell from the rooftops about the amazing things that our membership is doing. The programs and events we offer can help directly with this.

One way is to host a Business and Brews. Business and Brews are a great way to get people through the door and learn more about what your business has to offer. Many times people will walk away with leads to more business or a new contact. And frankly nothing warms our hearts more.

Another way is to sponsor or donate an item or service to one of our signature events. We host a few events each year that are used as a way to really build community. These are great opportunities to get your business name out there. If you are interested in this, let us help you make sure that the sponsorship or donation will help strengthen your referral marketing and that there is a direct connection behind what you are providing and what sort of business you have.

Many business people who believe in “what goes around, comes around” do relatively well in referral marketing. While there are many industries that are more service or product based, the Chamber can help you build relationships with individuals who are looking for your services. Regardless of what your business is, improving your referral marketing is all about getting in front of the right people. And the Glenwood area Chamber of Commerce is here to help you reach your goals for your business.
