Notification of By-Laws Changes

At the Glenwood Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors 2017-2018 Chamber Board Retreat, held on September 14th, 2017, the board discussed and has recommended to make the following changes to the Glenwood Area Chamber of Commerce By-Laws to reflect our Fiscal Year to correspond with our Annual Investment Dues Schedule, January through December:

Article VII – BOARD OF DIRECTORS. Section 3. TERM OF OFFICE
Change: Officers and Board Members term of office shall be from October 1 through September 30, which corresponds with the Chamber’s fiscal year to read “Officers and Board Members term of office shall be from January 1 through December 31, which corresponds with the Chamber’s fiscal year”.

Article XII – DEBTS & OBLIGATIONS. Section 4. FISCAL YEAR
Change: The fiscal year of the organization shall be October 1st through September 31st, annually to read “The fiscal year of the organization shall be January 1 through December 31, annually”.

The Glenwood Area Chamber of Commerce By-Laws are available to review in the Chamber Office, 5 N. Vine Street, Glenwood Iowa. These amendments will be approved by the Glenwood Area Chamber of Commerce at the November 16th, 2017 Board of Directors Meeting.

The contest will be open to all Glenwood, East Mills, Iowa Connection Academy and home-schooled middle school and high school-aged students. The contest will include: two-dimensional, drawing, painting, photography, three-dimensional, sculpture, fiber, pottery, metal, glass, wood, basketry and jewelry. Art pieces must be historical in relationship to Mills County history. Examples could be an old barn, tractor, car, building, quilt or person. Artist must research the item they’re using for their art piece before starting work and the piece must be original. Applications for entry must be submitted no later than 4 pm on November 12th by mail of by hand delivery. Art pieces must be delivered for the show by December 2nd. Come and be entertained by the Glenwood High School Concert Choir while eating spaghetti and meatballs. All proceeds will benefit Mills County programs such as the Love Tree, Storehouse, Glen Haven Village, Glenwood Community High School Vocal Music program, and community service scholarships for high school seniors. $10 per ticket – available at: Glenwood State Bank, Woods & Wyatt, PLLC, & Rotarians or at the door.
