We want to catch you out shopping locally this weekend!  The Chambers Secret Santa’s will be out in full force trying to catch you shopping here in our community.  If you get caught, you will be a “Lucky” winner of Chamber Bucks…….$100.00, $50.00, $25.00 or $20.00 ~ we will be giving out over $800.00 throughout the weekend!  A Chamber Buck is a redeemable certificate that is like cash or a gift certificate that can be redeemed by spending it at one of your Glenwood Area Chamber of Commerce member businesses for goods or services.

Speaker: Jack L. Krogstad, PH.D,  CPA
Professor of Accounting and Organizational Strategy Creighton University

Dr. Krogstad has held numerous leadership positions in academic, professional and nonprofit organizations.  He frequently consults to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants in its development of the computerized CPA certification examination.

Dr. Krogstad came to Creighton in 1980 as the John P. Begley Endowed Chair in Accounting, a position he held for 16 years.  He has also served Creighton’s College of Business Administration as Associate Dean for Graduate Programs and Financial Administration.  A decorated Vietnam veteran, Dr. Krogstad received his B.S. in Accounting from Union College in Lincoln, NE and his MBA and PH.D degrees from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.

Is accepting gently used or new Christmas Lights/Decorations to light up the Glenwood Lake Park this Holiday Season, beginning with the Glenwood Area Chamber of Commerce Home for the Holidays Event on Thursday, November 29th, 2012.  You may also donate new lights or yard decorations to light up a tree, shelter, or yard decorations in an area in honor of someone or a family.  A sign will be posted honoring that person or family.  Donations can be dropped off at the Glenwood Senior Center (by the Sheriff’s Department) M-F 9 am to 3 pm or Saturday morning 9-10:45 am.

9:30 AM ~ Monster Run on the Square

10:00-12:00 PM ~ Treating on the Square & Hayrides, Businesses/Organizations passing out treats to children.  Hayrides sponsored by the Glenwood Tractor Club.

10:00-11:00 AM ~ Costume Parade Registration in front of the Senior Center.

11:00-1:00 PM ~ Chili & Hot Dog Feed at the Senior Center with a Free Will Offering.

11:30 AM ~ Costume Parade & Contest @ the Senior Center with Prizes awarded for 0-3 ages, preschool, k-2nd grades, 3rd-5th grades, middle school, high school-adult, family & pets!

7:00 PM ~ Zombie Walk at the Glenwood Lake Park and Family Halloween Movie in the Park Immediately following the Zombie Walk, weather permitting.
