$109,000 Available!

Allen Hall, Chair of the Mills County Community Foundation, reminds Mills County nonprofit organizations that $109,000 is available for grants and applications are due no later than February 1, 2014.   Detailed application procedures, fact sheets, and a link to the application form can be obtained online at http://omahafoundation.org/swiowa.  Applications will only be accepted through the online system.  Contact any board member for additional information.  Please contact Dennis Nissen at 800-794-3458 or dennis@omahafoundation.org or Denise Cardos at denise@omahafoundation.org with grant application-specific questions.  All completed applications will be considered at the March board meeting with notification of results in early April.

Only organizations providing charitable services in Mills County are eligible.  They must be able to demonstrate broad community/county support and supply a copy of their 501(c)(3) IRS determination letter.  Requests for general operational funds will not be considered.

Thanks to the support of Mayor Clark, who has proclaimed October 18th as Methodist Jennie Edmundson Breast Health Center Day we will launch a City-Wide Pink Out effort to help promote the importance of early detection and yearly screenings for breast cancer.

We have some fun and exciting things planned for Glenwood!  We are hoping that each business on the square and several around town will join us in doing a “pink out” window display!  Each display will need to be done by October 11th as voting will begin on that day through the 17th – The top three winners will be announced after reading the proclamation on the 18th of October at 5:30 pm.  To vote for your top three, stop by the Gridiron Garage and cast your ballet!
