Potential Name Change

The Glenwood Area Chamber of Commerce is looking for feedback regarding a potential name change. Your input is vital in this endeavor. Please submit your thoughts below.

My favorite part of my job is when members come to us with ideas and passions that they want to see come to fruition.  Recently, I had the opportunity to sit down with Rachel Schott, of Bella Terre Vineyard and Reception Hall, and we chatted about how she is passionate about creating opportunities for young professionals to step into community leadership positions.  We talked about how we could go about doing this, and in that conversation SWIPE was born.

SWIPE stands for Southwest Iowa Professional Executives. The name can seem a little daunting, as many young professionals are probably thinking, “I am not an executive”. But we use that term as a mindset. We know that there are close to 4,320 people between the ages 18-45 in Mills County alone. SWIPE is the place for these individuals to come together and talk about their communities, their big ideas, their dreams of what they want to see happen. This group is a space for this age group to start to create meaningful change.

This group will be a huge asset to our region as we work across county lines, and with other Chambers of Commerce. Bring your friends and colleagues and join as we celebrate the launch of SWIPE on none other than on Cinco De Mayo! So join us on May 5th from 5-7pm at Bella Terre Vineyard and Reception Hall.
