I am thrilled to announce the event that I have been most looking forward to:  The 2022 Annual Betterment & Beautification Awards Program that will be held Thursday, October 27 at The Fountains Ballroom in Glenwood!

For the last forty years, the Glenwood Area Chamber of Commerce has recognized and celebrated the achievements of businesses and individuals for their dedication, commitment, and contributions to our community.  We know that all of you have a story to tell about an individual, organization, or business success and we want to hear about it.  Award recipients are nominated by their peers, so please take a minute, tell us your story and submit a nomination today!

Citizen of the Year:  The Citizen of the Year is an individual who has had a major positive impact and involvement in the community, business, service or government through years of service in a leadership role.  This individual is concerned about community betterment and has volunteered their time from personal and professional life to contribute toward the good of the community.

Junior Citizen of the Year:  The Junior Citizen of the Year is an individual who must be in grades 7-12 in Mills County who has a positive impact and involvement in the community, school, and demonstrates strong leadership within their peer group.

Educator of the Year:  An individual who has inspired and motivated children. Has had a long-term positive influence, making a difference in the lives of their students.

Customer Service of the Year:  This award goes to a business or individual who provides excellent service to customers through friendliness, good service, helpfulness, and a pleasant, welcoming environment.

Club/Organization of the Year:  A non-profit club, church, or organization that has exhibited concern for community betterment and/or has volunteered time to contribute toward the good of the community

Community Connection Award:  The Community Connection Award goes to a chamber member that continuously contributes to the betterment of our community through his or her business organization as well as on a personal level.

In addition to the awards program, with much anticipation, the Chamber will be unveiling some exciting news that evening; you won’t want to miss it!

Submit a nomination online at www.glenwoodia.com or stop into the Glenwood Area Chamber of Commerce, 5 N. Vine Street in Glenwood to pick up a form.  Nominations will close Wednesday, October 5.
