Glen Haven Village is a campus that offers 6 nursing cottages to the area’s aging community. Two cottages specialize in providing the highest quality memory care for those affected by dementia related illness, while another is designated to serve those from the community needing short-term rehabilitation services in order to return home. The neighborhood of cottages features private suites with bathrooms as well as other accommodations to meet the individual needs of its residents. Each newly renovated cottage staffs universal workers to meet resident’s needs. The Board of Directors for Glen Haven Home Inc. is very excited about bringing this concept to Iowa, as many other states are adopting this style of retirement living and rehabilitative care. The Glen Haven Village optimizes resident privacy by limiting the amount of staff and visitors to their homes. In addition, the model brings many opportunities for socializing in a smaller, home-like environment. This particular location, on the outskirts of the Glenwood Resource Center Campus, is an ideal site for providing care in a peaceful atmosphere surrounded by nature and picturesque views of our area’s rolling hill landscapes.
