Who Needs a Flu Vaccination? You Do!

 

The single best way to prevent and “protect your family” from the flu is to get a flu shot and it’s not too late!  Mills County Public Health has flu vaccine available and is offering clinics at their office located at 212 Independence St. in Glenwood as indicated in the following schedule:

 

Tuesday, December 1st from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Thursday, December 3rd from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m.

Friday, December 4th from 8:30 – 11:00 a.m.

Monday, December 7th from 2:00 – 4:30 p.m.

Friday, December 11th from 8:30 – 11:00 a.m.

Monday, December 14th from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m.

Thursday, December 17th from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.

 

Flu shots are recommended for those age 6 months and older. Mills County Public Health is offering several types of vaccine at their clinics including a “High Dose” recommended for those age 65 and over and VFC funded vaccine that is available at no charge for qualifying children ages 6 mo. – 18 yrs.  Charges for flu vaccine vary depending upon your provider.  Mills Co. Public Health is charging $45 for the High Dose Flu Vaccine; $25 for the Regular Flu Vaccine.  Medicare and Medicaid will be billed for those who are recipients and present their card at the time of vaccination.
