Glenwood is located in Mills County, one of the fastest growing areas in Iowa. Nestled in the beautiful Loess Hills, a National Scenic By-Way brings you through Glenwood from north to south and a four mile drive from Interstate 29 brings you here from the west. The Glenwood Exit is 15 miles south of the nation's crossroad of I-29 and I-80.
During the summer of 2008 an Assement was done by the IDED on the Downtown area.

Glenwood has a culture of traditional values with pride in our great schools, a community of many faiths, and a Chamber of Commerce with over 150 members who strive to offer what you need close to home.
We are proud of the amenities we have to offer should you decide to make the Glenwood area your home or choose to locate a business here. In 2007, ground-breaking for a new High School began with a Science Research and Innovation Center vision in progress. The High School project is on track for a March/April 2009 date for "substantial completion." Our schools offer excellent educational and extracurricular opportunities. We have a new YMCA, newly renovated Native American Earth Lodge, Mills County Historical Museum, Davies Amphitheater, and the beautiful Glenwood Lake Park. The Wabash Trace meanders through Mills County for biking and hiking. The Barton Theater and Leadership through Drama offer opportunities for local talent and for those who enjoy artistic expression through the arts. There is a broad range of housing available to fit your needs as well as excellent medical care facilities.
Glenwood / Mills County has access to many other amenities in our region. We are part of the Omaha Nebraska/Council Bluffs Iowa Metropolitan Statistical Area. Our greatest assets are our people and our location. We take pride in our strong work ethic and sense of community you will find in Glenwood and the surrounding area.
