Award recipients are based upon submitted community nominations.

Citizen of the Year
An individual who has had a major positive impact and involvement in the community, business, service or government through years of service in a leadership role. This individual is concerned about community betterment and has volunteered his or her time from personal and professional life to contribute toward the good of the community.

Junior Citizen of the Year
An individual in grades 7-12 who has had a positive impact and involvement in the community and school and demonstrates strong leadership within his or her peer group. (Must include student’s activities and community involvement. May not be nominated by a family member.)

Start-up Business of the Year
In recognition of a business that was established in Mills County in 2015, that has contributed to the economic growth and vitality of the Mills County Area.

Community Connection Award
A Chamber member that continuously contributes to the betterment of our community through his or her business organization as well as on a personal level.

Educator of the Year
An individual who has inspired and motivated children. Has had a long-term positive influence, making a difference in the lives of his/her students.

Customer Service of the Year
A business or individual who provides excellent service to customers through friendliness, good service, helpfulness, and a pleasant, welcoming environment.

Business Transformation of the Year
A business that has renovated and transformed the interior and/or exterior of their business, which in turn reflects an improved image for the betterment of the community.

Club/Organization of the Year
A non-profit club, church, or organization that has exhibited concern for community betterment and/or has volunteered time to contribute toward the good of the community.
